a.k.a. prototype is a studio specializing in design innovation. Located in Branford Connecticut since 1985, clients include American Standard, Black & Decker, Stride Rite Shoes, Hasbro and Schein Pharmaceutical.
a.k.a. prototype was established by Susan Farricielli, who realizes that most design is anonymous to a multitude of users and that most product designs are a constant evolution of prototypes that are the result of collaborative efforts and continued explorations of user needs, economics and technology.
Ms. Farricielli holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and an undergraduate degree in sculpture from Northern Kentucky State University. She is currently an adjunct professor at the Yale University School of Architecture and at Quinnipiac University.
